Balance: Animated Film Art from Dresden

Highlights from the workshop for animation and documentary film art founded in 1993

Many a cinematic treasure has already come out of this dedicated animation and documentary film workshop. Animated short film classics such as "Die schöne Anna-Lena" (The Beautiful Anna-Lena) by Ralf Kukula or "Die Eisbaderin" (The Ice Bather) by Alla Churikova are just as much a part of this as the exciting and moving animated film "Fritzi - Eine Wendewundergeschichte" (Director: Matthias Bruhn, Ralf Kukula) about the Peaceful Revolution in autumn 1989, experienced from the perspective of a girl. Ralf Kukula founded Balance Film GmbH in 1993 as an independent film production company in Dresden. From the beginning, the focus of the company's activities was on the development and production of animated and documentary films for cinema and television. Since then, a large number of in-house productions have been created, always fascinating and unusual in their graphic design, often made with special animation techniques. Balance Film is also involved in media education projects, especially in the pre-school sector. With our collection we give a small insight into the riches of the Balance Film workshop.
