The German Film Prize has been awarded since 1951. Initially it was called the "Bundesfilmpreis" (Federal Film Award), but it is currently also known as the "Lola", in reference to the statuette that is awarded as a symbol of the award. The 74th German Film Awards ceremony take place on 3 May 2024.
The German Film Prize is the most highly endowed German cultural prize, it is awarded annually in numerous categories. A "Lola" in gold is awarded to the winners in each of the individual categories, and in the main category "Best Feature Film" it is also awarded in bronze and silver.
